Classic Cocktails for Whiskey
The Old Fashioned
- 2 oz of 100 proof or higher bourbon or rye of choice.
- .75 oz Brown sugar simple syrup
- 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Express an orange for garnish
- 1 Luxardo cherry (anything else is subpar)
Put everything except orange and cherry in a mixing glass with some ice, stir no less than 20 times, strain and pour in a rocks glass
over a large cube. Express orange, rub the rim, add cherry and enjoy.
The Whiskey Sour
- 1.75 oz of 100 proof or higher bourbon or rye of choice.
- 1 oz Brown sugar simple syrup
- 1 oz lemon juice or lime juice (I like Lakewood organic pure lime juice, not concentrated)
- 1 egg white
Add everything into a shaker with 1 ice cube. Shake vigorously until ice is gone.
Strain and pour in a coup or martini glass, drop 2 -4 drops of Angostura bitters on the foam
The Red Raider
- 2 oz of 100 proof or higher bourbon or rye of choice.
- .75 oz Cointreau or triple sec
- .75 oz lemon juice
- .50 oz grenadine
- Ginger Ale or Sprite (Bundaberg Ginger Ale is my preference)
Add everything into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds, strain and pour into a rocks glass, garnish with a lemon and
a splash of ginger ale or sprite
The Bourbon Peach Smash
- 1.5 oz of 100 proof or higher bourbon or rye of choice.
- .75 oz Real Peach Syrup
- 2 oz Lemonade (choose your favorite, I use the Simply Lemonade)
- .25 oz lemon juice
- 1 oz Ginger Ale
- 1 Peeled Peach slice
Muddle the peach slice in a highball glass add the rest of the ingredients except ginger ale, add ice, stir well, top with ginger ale garnish
with peach ring candy.
The Quiet Professional
- 2 oz of 100 proof or higher bourbon or rye of choice.
- 1 oz Amaretto
- .75 oz Maple Syrup or Brown sugar simple syrup
- 3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Express a lemon for garnish
- 1 Luxardo cherry (anything else is subpar)
Put everything except lemon and cherry in a mixing glass with some ice, stir no less than 20 times, strain and pour in a rocks glass over

The Kentucky Mule
- 2 oz bourbon
- .25 oz simple syrup
- .50 oz lime juice
- Ginger Ale
Put bourbon, lime, and simple syrup in a glass with crushed ice, top with ginger ale, stir to combine.
Take favorite bourbon, pour over ice, and serve.
